At the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, Deb Boykin, the assistant vice president for student affairs and director of residence life, uses the ACUHO-I/ EBI assessment results to reﬁne RA training every August and then to guide staff responses to issues that arise during the year. She has also used the results to develop a diversity action plan for residence life, which serves as a model for all student affairs efforts. Connie Frazier, utilize ACUHO-I/ EBI survey results to identify areas for improvement and to help achieve more measurable progress. Backed by these results, the department reallocated resources to create two new staff positions: an enhancement programs coordinator and a judicial programs coordinator supported by 15 student program assistants. These positions focus on issues related to student transition, substance abuse, and healthy relationships, which had been identiﬁed as major areas of concern. As a result, there has been a signiﬁcant improvement in meeting learning outcomes, increasing personal interactions, and improving the residence hall environment.

Frazier also uses the survey analysis to create budgetary priorities and to guide resource allocation, ensuring that these vital programs survive during challenging ﬁscal periods. For Rose E. Viau, director of residential life at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, ACUHO-I/EBI survey results provide a starting point for conversations about student success. Through the use of customized surveys and focus groups, Viau and her team determine speciﬁc areas of concern and then design relevant plans of action.
