2012 ACUHO-i ANNUAl CONFERENCE & ExPOSiTiON
Call for presentations open online The annual conference and exposition delivers the newest information and ideas for housing professionals. ACUHO-I invites you to share your ideas and expertise with colleagues by submitting a program proposal for an education session at the premiere learning and networking event of the year. As a presenter you will experience the conference from a different perspective and you will give back to your association and profession with your expertise on pertinent subject matter. We encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity for professional development and personal growth. Contribute your success stories, ideas, and research at the premiere conference for housing professionals at one of the association’s biggest events of the year. ACUHO-I President Speaks in Amsterdam
Current president, Alma Sealine, spoke at The Class of 2020 event in Amsterdam in September. She shared the U.S. perspective on student housing and how ACUHO-I advocates for the industry. The event was hosted by a mix of both housing developers and housing associations that are concerned about the continuous shortage of student housing in the Netherlands. According to a press release, “This growing need is the result of rapid changes in internationalization as well as domestic growth of higher education. Historic university cities such as Delft, Leiden, Utrecht, Maastricht, and Amsterdam have called upon the national government to deregulate the student housing market to better allow campuses to meet this need.” As quoted in the same press release, Sealine says, “Having the chance to meet with international colleagues to learn more about how they work to meet student needs as well as the strategies they are considering to meeting the growing housing demand is invigorating.” View a YouTube video of Sealine presenting at http://www. youtube.com/watch?v=fRCkSHbQJ-g
