Recommends/ forecasts cost-effective options for research projects; budgetary responsibilities for the expenses of research projects. Monitors impact of income earning projects on budget and projects revenue. Maintains and updates website content for research projects. Leads, participates on or oversees special projects and staff working groups as assigned; attends allied psychological organization meetings as assigned or in place of AED; writes reports on special projects for publication, website, and distribution to governance and members. Independently develops agenda items on special projects or as assigned by AED for APAGS committee and subcommittee meetings. Develops, implements, and/or supports committee activities and projects approved by the APAGS Committee (including the APAGS Executive Committee and Members-at-Large). Job requirements include: doctorate degree in psychology (if program is in clinical/counseling/school psychology, the program must be APA-accredited); one to three years’ postdoctoral experience preferred; experience with association governance structures and processes preferred; demonstrated leadership skills; evidence of local or regional recognition and reputation within a wide range of psychological communities; excellent written and communication and presentation skills; excellent interpersonal skills; including a sensitivity and understanding of diversity issues, an appreciation for diverse and conflicting opinions; research skills, including the ability to determine how to create items for surveys; descriptive statistics and conducting statistical analyses, demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and disseminate complex information from a variety of sources; diplomacy, discernment, and political acumen; the ability to successfully coordinate and collaborate with a variety of individuals and offices with competing or conflicting agendas and priorities to identify and work on common interests and goals; the ability to work independently, and make decisions in the absence of the AED; proficient skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and SPSS or other statistical programs, and knowledge of Microsoft access. In coordination with the ED and other AEDs of the Science Directorate, cover administrative tasks and budget preparation for the Science Directorate; collaborate with all of the Executive Directors to develop new programs and initiatives consistent with activities in the purview of this position, and in the context of service to the association, supervise methodological and technical assistance provided to other staffing units and governance groups regarding the conduct of special surveys; and serve as the central point of contact in responding to inquiries concerning psychology workforce analysis from central office staff, governance groups, members, the public, and researchers in public and private sectors.
