Career OPPORTUNITIES mental psychology: The Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a faculty position as assistant, associate or full professor to create and maintain a vigorous program of research. While area of emphasis is open, preference will be given to candidates with a coherent and potentially externally fundable program of applied research, to reflect their expertise in any number of areas of experimental psychology (e.g. sensory/perceptual processes, statistics/experimental design, social, physiological, developmental, or cognitive psychology). Responsibilities include: conducting a vigorous research program, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising graduate training in research, and serving on departmental committees. The UNT Department of Psychology has over 1,200 undergraduate majors. We have four doctoral programs. An applied experimental program and counseling psychology, clinical psychology, and clinical health and behavioral medicine programs APA-accredited. Our four doctoral programs are quite distinct, but function cooperatively to direct graduate education in the department. The department has 26 FTE faculty, with some choosing to belong to more than one program. Each of the accredited doctoral programs is affiliated with the departmental training clinic, providing a large number of clinicians and many opportunities for researchers. The center is a new multidisciplinary clinical research program with a large clinical service and links to several molecular neuroscience and genetics programs.
