2012 Continuing Education Independent Study Program - (Page C3)
» DEAR COLLEAGUE,
The American Psychological Association’s (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP)
is pleased to present its 2012 Continuing Education Independent Study Program. Independent study
programs offer you the opportunity to complete professional development that fits your interests,
your schedule, and your budget.
We offer programs in a variety of formats:
• The APA Online Academy consists of two types of programs: Convention Workshop
Presentations (CWP) consist of half-day and full-day online workshop presentations;
Professional Development Presentations (PDP) are shorter, 1- or 2-hour online programs on
key contemporary topics. All programs contain multimedia presentations, downloadable
PowerPoint Slides, and progress quizzes. You can take these courses from the comfort of your
home, office, or anywhere with Internet access.
• Convention Recordings are full digital video online programs. These 1- to 2-hour
presentations cover the latest professional and scholarly developments, together with
synchronized and downloadable PowerPoint Slides. A new digital monitoring system means
No CE Tests!
• The Interactive Classroom (ICR) brings the latest educational technology to your
professional development through a highly interactive and immersive online video environment.
These 2- to 3-hour programs bring tomorrow’s online training to you today (includes
downloadable slides and associated resources).
• The Clinician’s Corner Workshop Series provides online archives of the complete line
of Clinician’s Corner Webcasts in full digital video with downloadable PowerPoint slides. These
3-hour workshops bring the field’s leading scholars and practitioners to your home or office.
• The APA Book-Based Programs are based on outstanding APA publications that cover a
broad array of interests. See our 10 new releases on pages 17-35.
• The APA DVD Series Programs feature distinguished psychologists demonstrating specific
approaches to a wide range of patient problems and conducting psychotherapy in entire,
unedited sessions.
• Other formats include the Article-Based Exams Series (APA Monitor-CE Corner,
Clinician’s Research Digest, Ethics Rounds, The Counseling Psychologist, and Evidence-Based
Psychotherapy), and the End-of-Life Programs.
