Evidence-Based Psychotherapy
Programs
The Division of Psychotherapy Task Force on Empirically
Supported Therapy Relationships published a landmark
review of evidence-based literature that identified
elements of effective psychotherapy relationships and
determined methods of customizing therapy to the
individual patient. The following two CE programs were
developed in relation to that review and in collaboration
with Division 29, Psychotherapy.

Dedicated to covering the latest developments in the field
of substance use and abuse, the National Institute on
Drug Abuse (NIDA) publications provide coverage of the
late-breaking developments in understanding chemical
use and dependencies. Each issue of the NIDA newsletter
provides topical coverage of one particular class of
substances or disorders and provides a review of recent
findings concerning the causes, effects, and patterns of
substance use and abuse.

Mental Illnesses
The occurrence of substance use disorders and other
mental health issues is quite common, and this
comorbidity carries implications for the diagnosis and the
treatment of these disorders. This program provides the
latest updates on research and treatment in relation to
