Right place, right time Where to get care if you don’t have a doctor When you have an urgent health problem, you should never hesitate to seek care from the emergency department. Most medical concerns, however, are better addressed by a primary care doctor who can work with you to manage your overall health, not just the current problem. If you do not have a primary care physician, South Pointe Hospital’s Primary Care Clinic can be a good choice for you. The clinic is staffed by resident physicians in the hospital’s Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Neuromuscular Manual Manipulation programs. The residents are supervised by more senior staff members and provide care ranging from routine preventive visits to management of chronic illnesses. Patients who are unable to pay for their services may be eligible to receive free or discounted care through the hospital’s charity program. Call 9-1-1 or go to an emergency department in cases of true medical emergencies, such as: n Loss of consciousness n Signs of heart attack or stroke shortness of breath bleeding n Severe n Excessive n Major What Kind of Doctor Will I See?
