Health Essentials - Winter 2012 - Stephanie Tubbs Jones - (Page 2)

From the medical director Both new and familiar The offices, equipment and various rooms are new. But some things haven’t changed. That has become apparent to our patients as they walk the halls of the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Health Center. Familiar faces can be seen throughout this modern facility. Those faces are a reassuring reflection of the ongoing dedication our staff has to providing residents in the community with quality care. I am privileged to have the opportunity to serve as the first medical director of the center, and equally privileged to continue working with an outstanding staff of physicians. As a team, we will build upon the high standard of service that our patients expect from us. In the process, the Cleveland Clinic Stephanie Tubbs Jones Health Center will become a “medical home” to families throughout the community. At a disproportionate rate, our patients suffer from diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease, as well as the complications and consequences of these chronic illnesses. Personalized care is essential, and that is what we will continue to deliver. State-ofthe-art equipment in this facility will enhance our ability to consult with colleagues about individual patients. Our electronic medical record system will enable us to track the services we provide, to ensure patients receive the ongoing support they need. We are strengthening our efforts to provide education and proactive strategies to keep all family members from developing health problems. Residents of all ages will find programs and services to address their medical and health issues. Those services will be delivered with compassion and insight. Our commitment to residents in the community remains strong. That, above all else, has not changed.
