In that time, he has served in several physician leadership capacities, including chief of staff. He currently serves as senior medical director for surgical specialties and is a member of the Physician Leadership Team. Dr. Hurlbert received his medical degree from the University of Colorado, where he graduated with honors. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and his fellowship in vascular surgery, involving extensive training in endovascular therapy, at Southern Illinois University. “I like the whole breadth of treating patients with vascular disease,” Dr. Hurlbert said. “I really try to put the patient at the center of my care.” In his spare time, Dr. Hurlbert enjoys hiking with his two children.
