Make a Difference Through Memorial and Honorary Gifts If you have a family member or friend whose life has been touched by Parrish Medical Center, we hope you’ll consider making a gift in honor of that person. Any charitable gift you arrange can be made in honor of someone. Consider these two basic methods of establishing an honorary gift. A gift today. An outright gift can help fund immediate needs or an upcoming project. The financial benefits include an income tax deduction and possible elimination of capital gains tax. A gift through your will. Helping Women Feel Beautiful Anyone who goes through chemotherapy or a mastectomy has many challenges to face. Losing self-esteem may be one of the biggest. That’s where Parrish Medical Center’s new Cancer Care Boutique can help. The boutique, which opened in July, provides a pampering environment with the resources to help cancer patients adjust to the social and psychological effects of cancer. The boutique focuses on a patient’s self-esteem and well-being by providing wigs, turbans, hats, bras and prostheses. Educational consultations are also given. The boutique is available to patients with all types of cancer, with an emphasis on breast cancer. The Cancer Care Boutique was funded with proceeds from the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation 2010 Masquerade Benefit Ball.
