Membership

By the end of 2010, SAE International’s membership ranks remained strong – more than 128,000 members in more than 100 nations. The SAE International network included	61	U.S.	and	Canadian	Chapters,	252	 University	Branches,	120	University	Clubs,	 seven	International	Chapters,	five	International	 Groups,	and	three	Global	Affiliates	in	India,	 Brasil, and Australia/Asia. SAE International membership numbers also were bolstered by a sharp increase in the number of renewals. SAE International members were treated to a number	of	new	and	significant	enhancements	 in	their	membership	benefits	throughout	 2010. SAE International unveiled the most extensive overhaul of its membership model in its history, and allowed members to choose from one of four membership tiers. The new model enables professional members to customize their membership and provides different	member	benefit	options	covering	all	 stages of a mobility engineering professional’s career.

In addition, SAE International launched its new EngineerXchange Web site. EngineerXchange (EX) is the new online professional network that gives SAE International members exclusive access to powerful networking tools, career counseling/ management tools, and advance access to SAE International technical content. The EX platform is fully customizable, from profile	information	to	the	ability	to	tag	and	 comment on all content for easy search and sharing. With EX, users have the ability to: •	 Create	and	organize	groups	based	on	 interest and topics •	 Tag	and	search	for	topics	 •	 Stay	up	to	date	on	SAE	International	news	 and events •	 Chat	live	with	other	members
